The pop band BMX Bandits formed in Scotland in 1985 and were a central part of the C-86/anorak scene of that time. Founded by ex-Pretty Flowers member Duglas T. Stewart, the BMX Bandits, who released their debut single "E102" in 1986, became a force to be reckoned with on the Scottish scene and spawned numerous spin-offs such as the Soup Dragons or Teenage Fanclub. Their debut song was a prime example of the charming jangle-pop made popular by the NME "C-86" tape, but wasn't included on that issue, so they called their own debut album "C-86"?
