Louis Philippe
London-based multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Louis Philippe (Philippe Auclair) played piano, guitar, percussion, melodica and even sang. A philosopher raised in Normandy, Philipe became associated with él records in the late 80's, a label devoted to pop fantasy and escapism. He was also influenced by bubblegum pop, jazz, soul and chanson francaise. After él folded, he recorded two experimental works, "Rainfall" and "Jean Renoir". He reunited with él collaborator Mike Alway in If... and Reverie, two 90's labels. 2004's "The Wonder of It All" was financed by Philippe's fans.
